Mt. Santubong

I love Jungle trekking!!...with FRIENDS ^.^

Pic: Arjun, Nikson, S.Ying, M.Fang, Mag, H.Chuan, Aman, Ray and me. (sorry about the rest cause i can't recall)

This was on the 29 Nov 2008 when we had done our final exam for  the 5th semester. We called this the de-stressed trek. See, we were all so relieved.

27/11/08
2100: Preparing tuna and sardine sandwiches.
2200: Bed time.

28/11/08
0500: Preparing ingredients for fried rice.
0520: Started cooking. ( End up Grandma did most of the cooking..hehe..)
0600: Picked up by Nikson and the journey started!

We reached at the foot of Mt. Santubong at around 0730. We gathered around and distributed the work to the guys. What work? Basically, carrying the girls food and drinks. We were all so excited having all sort of junk food and "proper" food for the trip. Then we wanted to pay the water bill before heading off. Guess what? The toilet was bloody expensive. RM 1 per pax!! OMG..urine is just liquid that is degradable and some more nutritive  to the plants *blink* yet it cost so much to release it. No choice..chopped. (Unless you are blinking now).

Going in...realizing i brought my camera without battery in it!!! T.T

Poor bridge collapsed...but we managed to go through as the ground was dry.

       Half way up...

As we saw this huge tree, we stopped to pic again...

Going down the slope to the waterfall...

Finally, time for a break. It was like 2 or 3pm when we reached this part and all of us were tired and hungry.
so we took out the sandwiches which i made. It never tasted so good!

Time to chill out a little while after the break so we had a visitor to take this.

Lovely...

No time to waste, we hurried up and FINALLY...yes finally, we reached the top!! OH YEAH!
It rained quite heavily when we came up. The trail was very slippery. It just doubled the work of our calf muscles. Happily, everyone was doing great.

One for MY record! Just so scenic.

Our lil hut for the final dish...Grandma's fried rice *.*

Best thing on top of the mountain!

One for the album! We made it!!

                           The mist came...

Well, time to head down. It was already like 3 or 4pm then. We must get down to the foot before the sun goes down. So, the trip back was actually more energy consuming than when we went up. Most of our legs started to shake and we have to be fast some more. Torturing T.T

Just nice...it was 630pm when we reached the ground. Praise God!

We all slept soundly that night and had the muscle pain for the rest of the week. lolx...
